Yoshikazu Shinzato recalls accompanying Daido Moriyama to Okinawa in 2013 (the renowned photographer had been there only twice before, in 1974 and 2002). On the trip, he witnessed first-hand Moriyama’s approach towards the fleeting moments of the everyday. This special publication accompanies the exhibition ‘Endless Works N/S’ at the Okinawa Prefectural Museum & Art Museum. It comprises two books of photography: one of black-and-white work from the 1970s in Hokkaido (“N”, or North), and one of colour photos from 2013 in Okinawa (“S”, or South), as well as a third book of essays in by artists and critics (Simon Baker, Akiko Otake, Naoki Ishikawa and Atsuhiro Tamaki).
