Daido Moriyama

Marrakech
In November 2015, Japanese photographer Daido Moriyama visited Marrakesh for the first time in 26 years. Diving into the chaos of this Moroccan city and following several routes through the souks that run like labyrinths inside the medina, camera always at the ready, he recorded his new, yet in many ways familiar, impression of it. Moriyama also made a side trip to one of the Berber settlements scattered at the edge of the Atlas Mountains. Standing thus at the intersection of various ethnic groups, he found himself completely lost in rambling speculations about “why the human world is so similar and yet so different at the same time…”
